The Gregory Deva 60L has been my go-to pack…

The Gregory Deva 60L has been my go-to pack for many multi-day backpacking trips, and after putting it through plenty of miles, I can say it’s one of the most comfortable and functional packs I’ve used.

Comfort & Support:
The suspension system is excellent. The pack does an incredible job of transferring weight to the hips, taking almost all of the strain off my shoulders. Even with a heavy load, I feel supported and stable on the trail. I also love the way it sits against my back even when packed full. I have used other packs that don’t have as sturdy of a frame and when packed full protrude into your back causing a lot of discomfort - the framing on the Deva prevent that.

Storage:
The Deva is packed with smart storage options. The extra-large hip belt pockets are a standout feature, big enough to fit my iPhone plus plenty of snacks within easy reach. There are also tons of pockets and external attachment points, which makes organizing gear and clipping items to the outside a breeze.

Versatility:
One of my favorite features is the removable brain. It makes the Deva more versatile on trips where I set up basecamp and want to explore without hauling all my gear.

Durability:
This pack feels built to last. The materials are tough, and the zippers, straps, and buckles have all held up well to rugged use.

Weight:
The only downside is the pack’s weight. At 4 lbs 10 oz, it’s not the lightest 60L option out there. If you’re an ultralight backpacker, this definitely is not the right choice for you. I have considered getting a lighter weight pack like the : Osprey Eja 58 - which is only 2 lbs. 11 oz. This switch would save me nearly 2 lbs of trail weight.

The Gregory Deva 60L is a fantastic choice for backpackers who prioritize comfort and organization. While it’s not the lightest pack available, its thoughtful design and support system make it worth carrying, especially on longer trips where comfort really matters.
